Applying for Free Government Money

Is there really such a thing as free government money? The short answer is yes, there is. However, is getting that money going to be easy? Unfortunately, that answer is not quite as positive. There is free government money for individuals but getting your hands on it is the hard part.

Many people are under the erroneous impression that simply filing out a form and submitting it to a government grant office is all it takes to get government grants. We are here to tell you that, that is simply not the case. There are specific dynamics in place when it comes to getting free government money.

Free Government Money Must Benefit the Government

If you are confused at this point, you are not alone. However, the explanation is quite simple. Each year the government hands out approximately 150 billion dollars in grant money. The catch is that the money must be used in some way as to better the economy or bring the money back into the government’s hands in some way.

Typically, the grant money is distributed to the different states and then to the people applying for it. Usually, grants are given to fund small businesses or to educate people so that they may better serve the nation, thereby ultimately creating jobs for individuals and generating revenue. This is one reason the government is so choosy when it comes to giving out grants.

Free Government Money for College

As mentioned above, the government does have quite a few different types of grants for funding college students. Obviously, educating our people is a priority and therefore these grants are usually the easiest to obtain. However, a person must meet a number of requirements in order to qualify for free government money for college.

The individual seeking a government college grant must fall into one of many categories in terms of income, gender and minority. If the person applying for the government grant is married then the income of the spouse is also assessed before any grant money is released.

The same can be said of young students who are still in the care of their parents. If the parents make too much money then there is a good possibility the grant may be denied.

Free Government Money for Charities

Getting a charity off the ground takes money and depending on your cause you may be able to obtain a government grant in order to get a beneficial charity up and running. If the type of charity being opened will help minimize the amount of money the government has to spend on whatever the cause may be, the grant may be much more easily obtained.

For example, the government spends millions of dollars every year on animal control shelters, needy familes and individuals and a number of other things. Charities help raise money for these exact causes and in the government’s eyes, this is a good thing. At the same time, getting a charity funded by the government is not as easy as making a phone call and asking for some money.

One must prove that the charity will be beneficial to the community in a very positive way before the government is going to let go of any free grant money.

Government Grants for Purchasing Real Estate Property

The economy has taken a major blow and as a result people have been spending less money. This is mainly because there is not enough to go around. However, the real estate market has a direct effect on the nation’s economy. When people begin buying homes and spending money, they also start paying property taxes and the government likes tax money.

For this reason, a person looking to buy a piece of residential or commercial property may be able to qualify for a grant depending on his/her circumstances. Again, we are not talking about loans; we are talking about free government money. Not quite as easy to get as most people believe.

There is a lot of hype out there about all the different kinds of free government grants people can obtain. The truth is there are grants out there, but the question is, how easy are they to be approved for? This answer is complex. On one hand people do get grants every day, but does that mean you are going to get the grant you are applying for? Perhaps you will but it is going to take some creativity and work on your part.
