Home Improvement Grants

If you are a millionaire and have no worries whatsoever with respect to the renovation of your home, you are probably one of very few people.

In this case, you wouldn’t need any home improvement grants, and you could remodel and change the look of your house anytime you want.

Most of us can only dream about what it would be like to be able to renovate our home in any way we would like, without having to keep a budget in mind, and unfortunately there’s only a very select few in our great country that have the ability to do that.

The rest of us have to either make due with what we have, or look for creative ways to get the work done, which had led to many poor renovations over the years.

Not everyone has the skill to renovate their home on their own, and unfortunately people that shouldn’t be attempting to do their own renovation, resort to doing their own poor quality renovations to try to save some money.

Fortunately for you and the thousands of people that aren’t rich or handy, there are helpful alternatives that will not dig a big hole in your pockets, making it easier to do the renovations that you have been dreaming of.

Home Improvement Grants & Loans

These Home Improvement Grants are for those individuals that are unable to renovate, remodel or improve the efficiency of their home because of financial hardship. In today’s difficult economy, it’s quite likely that you find yourself in a position where your home is in need of renovation, but you simply don’t have the money.

These grants are helpful for those individuals that may have the money for the remodeling process but need a little extra financial assistance. This means that they will only need a small amount of cash to help get their remodeling process up and running. People that own apartments that have had their fair share of renters can also make use of these Home Renovation Loans.

People have many misconceptions as to the acquisition of these grants. Many myths have been created about how an individual actually goes about getting one of these Government grants and who is eligible to receive them.

There are many Home Improvement Grants available based on your own unique situation, this will dictate which type of government improvement grant you should apply for. Applying for the wrong type of grant can result in a decline.

Title I Home Improvement Loan

The first Home Repair Grant is the Title I Home Improvement Loan. This is suitable for small to moderate repairs and remodeling for homeowners or proprietors. Such loans are available for you when you get in contact with approved HUD lenders.

Of course, do make sure they are approved as there have been many frauds and you do not want to be one of those individuals who get ripped off. The maximum amount any household can receive is $25,000; a house manufactured on a real estate property is eligible for $17,500. Many other house structures can receive different amounts and you can get information about this on the Internet.

203 (k) Rehabilitation Program

Another loan that has had many people quite excited is the 203 (k) Rehabilitation Program. This loan is also available through nationwide lenders that have been approved by the state to avoid frauds—since the HUD does not directly deal with the homeowner or the property owner, you should make sure the person you are dealing with is approved.

You can use this loan to purchase a home and remodel it, or you can purchase a brand new home, move it to the base of a mortgaged property, and then have constructors remodel it or you can take and existing mortgage, refinance it, and then renovate it.

Individuals that are eligible for this loan are those families that consist of four persons who have lived in the home for at least a year prior to the application of a loan acquisition.

Indian Home Loan Guarantee Program

The third type of Home Improvement Loan is the Indian Home Loan Guarantee Program. This is specifically for the Native Americans or Alaskan Natives who belongs to either a tribe that is recognized federally, or a Tribally Designated Housing Entity (TDHE) or an Indian Housing Authority.

This loan is very handy and homeowners can use this grant for the renovation of their existing home or for the construction of a new home. Interested persons can even refinance existing housing if necessary.
